All FOPFC programs are free and open to the public. Unless otherwise stated, these events will take place at Pope Farm Conservancy, 7440 West Old Sauk Road, meeting in the lower parking lot. Winter Walk at Pope Farm Conservancy

** Meet in the LOWER parking lot off Old Sauk Road **

The Friends will be hosting a Winter Walk at Pope Farm Conservancy on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 1PM. Come enjoy the stark beauty of winter at the conservancy. Bring your own gear (snowshoes, cross-country skis, or hiking boots) and join us for a one-hour adventure through this beautiful winter wonderland. Let’s hope for some nice winter weather! Public Talk: Exploring the Black Earth Creek Watershed

Thursday, April 10th, 2025 (6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)

Location: Pope Farm Elementary School, 816 Schewe Road, Middleton, WI 53562 (Community Room)

Representatives Andy Morton and Michelle Harris of the Black Earth Creek Watershed Association (BECWA) will present a brief summary of the 2024 Black Earth Creek Watershed Health Report. Join us for guided Birding Tour at Pope Farm Conservancy on Saturday, May 31st at 7:30 AM. Discover the rich variety of migrating birds as they pass through this beautiful natural area. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just getting started, enjoy a peaceful morning walk through scenic trails while learning about bird species, behaviors, and habitats from local birding expert Mike McDowell. Don’t forget your binoculars and your sense of adventure!

Explore the Nest Box Trail at Pope Farm Conservancy! Join us on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM for a Nest Box Trail Walking Tour at Pope Farm Conservancy. Discover the fascinating world of cavity-nesting birds as we explore the Conservancy’s nest box trail and check in on active nests. Learn about the species that use these boxes, how the trail is monitored, and what it takes to support healthy bird populations. A great opportunity for nature lovers of all ages—come see what’s happening inside the boxes!
