Self-Guided Tours
Take yourself on a tour of Pope Farm Conservancy with our free self-guided walking tours!
The FOPFC Education Committee have teamed up with local experts & researchers to develop a series of self-guided tours on the following topics:
- Archaeology & Native American Life
- Gifts of Ice: The Geology at Pope Farm
- Our Farming Heritage
- The Prairies at Pope Farm Conservancy
- The Erosion Trail (coming soon!)
Paper copies are available within the Conservancy on a “use and return” basis. There are two Self-Guided tour boxes where you can pick up a brochure. One is located at the lower entrance off Old Sauk Rd at the beginning of the gravel path. The other tour box is located at the upper parking lot near the Information Board. Please return your brochure when done so others can also enjoy.
We are always striving to help people learn about the land and its stories. These tours are a great way to tour the Conservancy and learn about the different features of the Conservancy.
Are YOU a history buff or enjoy researching local history?
FOPFC is seeking volunteers who would like to help develop and write up additional tours, learn about PFC and lead community groups, and assist with technology and documenting our local stories. Contact info@popefarmconservancy.org if you would like to join our Education Committee.
