Join us for an engaging presentation by the Black Earth Creek Watershed Association, where we’ll dive into the significance of this vital watershed and its connection to our local environment. Learn what and where the watershed is, the crucial role it plays in our ecosystem, and how it supports biodiversity and water quality. Discover the challenges it faces, including development pressures, pollution, and climate change, as well as the opportunities it offers for recreation, conservation, and environmental sustainability.
Representatives Andy Morton and Michelle Harris of the Black Earth Creek Watershed Association (BECWA) will present a brief summary of the 2024 Black Earth Creek Watershed Health Report. The full report as well as an executive summary can be found here.
We’ll also explore how Pope Farm Conservancy fits into the bigger picture, linking to the Black Earth Creek watershed as well as other nearby watersheds like Yahara River and the Sugar River. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, conservation advocate, or simply curious about local water systems, this event will provide valuable insights into how we can protect and enjoy these essential resources.
