Volunteer with the Friends
The Friends of Pope Farm Conservancy is run solely by volunteers. We are incredibly proud of our dedicated and hard-working volunteers and all that we have accomplished together! We are always grateful to those who want to “give back” to the conservancy and to the community. We have many volunteer opportunities for folks both summer and winter.
Here are some opportunities that take little time and have a big impact on Pope Farm Conservancy:
Education Team
Our education team meets once a month to discuss and implement educational opportunities at the conservancy. Help is needed to coordinate and host field trips, promote our educational video series, and brainstorm ongoing adult and family education activities. Contact Doug Piper to get involved.
Communications / Marketing
Our PR Team is looking for volunteers to help promote events, write newsletter articles, design promotional materials, and compose stories for our publications throughout the year. Contact Janie Starzewski for more info.
Photographers
Our PR Team is seeking volunteer photographers who can provide images for our publications, website, and promotional materials. High resolution photos preferred but not required. Contact Janie Starzewski for more info.
Programs Committee
Are you passionate about Pope Farm Conservancy? Do you enjoy organizing events and bringing people together? We need your help! If you have any questions or would like to join the Programs Committee, please contact Trel Gimber.
Over the last 10 years the Friends of Pope Farm Conservancy have provided programs and talks about the Conservancy to the public, free of charge. Hundreds of people have enjoyed learning about the stories of the land and the natural world. To continue to provide these programs at the same levels that we have done in the past, we need some volunteers to help with the planning to make them happen. This is a chance for you to “give back” to the Conservancy, and help the Friends with our educational mission. We need you!
Restoration Team
Volunteers are needed for the following activities: Monarch Tagging and Seed Collection. Open to the public. Please register in advance so we can send you more information and details about where to meet and what to bring. Contact curt@popefarmconservancy.org if you have questions.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
We also welcome high school & college students looking to do research projects; master gardeners and nature enthusiasts to assist in the prairies; history buffs to help develop new interactive (video) & self-guided tours; photographers & graphic artists to assist with promotional materials; … and much, much more! Email us at info@popefarmconservancy.org to get involved!
